It's an adjustment!

There's a whole new routine that we've had to establish since Koa made his grand entrance into this world. For one thing, I've taken over the Malaia duty at night. Occasionally she sleeps through the night now, but she still has new teeth coming in. So the last couple of nights have been rough. She has gotten up about 3 times each night, just screaming and holding her mouth. Poor girl.

I really don't have a problem with it, although I'm dog tired. At least Koa is starting to get on a routine now, where he only wakes up every 2 1/2 hours for a feed. The first couple of nights were ridiculous. We'd go to bed at 8pm. He'd wake up at 8:10 and then cluster feed like crazy with only minor breaks until about 2-3am. That's when I'd take over and bring him downstairs with me. And try to comfort him for a few hours. At least he would sleep for me. So between getting up with Malaia and then being up with Koa at that time, there hasn't been much sleep going on.

Malaia has been fantastic with Koa too. She does get a little too excited every once and while and try to grab at him. But for the most part she just observes what mommy and daddy are doing with him. She's only shown mild jealousy a couple of times. But I'm doing my darnedest to keep her busy at all times. So there's no lack of attention for her.

All in all it's been goin really well so far and we're looking forward to our second stab at parenting. we're going to do things a little differently and if all goes well Koa will be a better sleeper and not need a bottle at night.

On that note I'll quit rambling and once I've had a good sleep I'll get back to some better posting. I'm back to work tommorrow. So there should be some good writing from Ang trying to look after both kids on her own!
